123 Count with Me/Learning About Letters

My kids love it!
My kids (3 and 1 and a half) love Sesame Street's Count on Me 123 video. They were a little younger when I first bought it and while the storyline (Ernie finds a 'Furry Arms' room key on the street, returns it to the hotel & starts teaching everyone how to count) went over their heads at first, the catchy tunes, skits & scenes (mainly from the early Sesame Street episodes) soon caught their attention. There's a cohesive plot & everything links well.

Now my 3-year-old knows most of the words and even my one-and-a-half can say some numbers - it's a great video, fun to watch even for adults, and I highly recommend it.

Learning about Letters is more of a cut-and-paste of other Sesame Street skits & scenes - not that this isn't good, just that it's standard fare. I like that they are taken from the earlier Sesame Street episodes as I prefer the quality then. And my one-and-a-half year old loves the "C is for Cookie" song that I remember from back then!

Seame Street teaching another generation
My grandson LOVES this dvd(I started with the Letters), the episodes of which his mother had also enjoyed many years ago. The repetition and lively muppets are holding his attention at four months. He bounces up and down during the parts he likes and cries when the dvd is over.

My son loves these!
My son is two and has had these videos for about 6 months. He can identify every letter in the alphabet and is counting almost to twenty now! I work with him a lot, but I would say these DVD's are a great help because his favorite Sesame Street characters make it fun and present the info differently than I do. Both of them are an essential part of our Sesame Street collection.

Days of Darkness

a tasty treat
I can honestly say that i had no real hope for this film. Most of the horror films to come out in recent history have been... disappointing. So, i started this movie with no expectations other than turning it off after the first ten to fifteen minuets.

what i found was something fairly original, calling itself on most of the cliches that it couldn't avoid and doing everything in it's power to overcome its' obvious budgetary restraints.

for fans of zombie films, this should be a real breath of fresh air, done in the style of a Romero film.

Bad, very, very bad.
This is by far one of the worst movies I have seen in a really really long time. Wow, I can not believe that something like this has even received any good comments. Horrible dialogue, poor character developement, and shotty effects. I think we did the same level of quality movie when I was in high school. In short, it's 85 minutes and $15.00 I'll never get back.

Painful to watch, but in the end is not that bad
Ok, so if you are looking for a zombie movie to watch just to watch, don't grab this one, Dawn of the Dead (orig or remake) is my favorite. I watch zombie movies cause i like them and eventually want to make them. This one is one you can learn from. They are in an isolated location the whole time, no big sets or lots of extras. Its done cheap and effective. Yea the story is shoddy, the acting even worse, the fight scenes are comical, the dialogue is crap. But educational wise its interesting. The lighting is good considering where they are filming. In "Zombie Night" they were in a warehouse of some sort and the lighting was done horribly. This one had a good location but the way they had the perimeter set up was totally unbelievable. The cause of the outbreak was ok, i mean its a zombie movie. And what prevents it is cool, simple. Again, I watch zombie movies to see what has been done, I liked this one for its simplicity; the story, acting, and dialogue needed work.

Trade

The Dirty Little Secret of International Sex Slave Trade: A Wake-up Call
Based on an article written by Peter Landesman, who also wrote the story and co-wrote the screenplay with Jose Rivera ('The Motorcycle Diaries'), TRADE literally forces us to experience the cruel, vicious international market for sex slaves. It is brutally captured on film by director Marco Kreuzpaintner ('Summer Storm') in a manner that spares nothing to unveil the atrocities created by the many people form all countries who ply this trade. It is a tough film to watch, but it is also an important film to see: the public MUST be made aware of this criminal activity that robs the lives of children and adults around the globe.

The setting is Mexico City and in the poor sector lives a fatherless family supported by the oldest son Jorge (Cesar Ramos) whose 'occupation' is petty crime that allows him to bring in money for his mother and his beloved sister Adriana (Paulina Gaitan). We see the abduction of a beautiful young Polish girl Weronica (Alicja Bachleda-Curus) in the...

Very important film.
I saw this at the Passion '07 Conference in Atlanta, GA at a special advanced screening, and I have to say that it is one of the most powerful and important films that I have seen in a long while. It portrays the horrors of sex trafficking, and how it affects the victims. The story is of a young man whose young sister is kidnapped and sold into sex trafficking. He teams up with a cop, played by Kevin Kline in a really good performance, and they set off to find her.

There are times when it resorts to cliches, and there are times when the dialogue is less than perfect, but I believe that these are only minor problems, and they did not dilute the film's strong message. I believe that the filmmaker's set out to show us something which is extremely important, something that should be dealt with. I hope that people see this film, and are able to look past the minor criticisms in order to see the bigger picture.

This is a tragic story, but most importantly it is a story...

Very Moving Film
This is a film that is hard to watch. If you are human, and you have a heart, this experience will definitely not be pleasant. Do not take this as a bad thing however; after the viewing was over, I felt almost a sense of relief and happiness knowing that many viewers will get their lives changed, because of this important little tale.

I will not provide a synopsis of the film; everyone else has summed that up well. What I would like to comment on is the outstanding performances. Within the first ten minutes I was dropped into this story, and I felt like I was involved. You go on a journey from Mexico to New Jersey, and there is a sense like you are a fly on the wall, and all you want to do is help the victims escape. The performances are strong enough that you will inevitably feel a suspension of disbelief.

This is a story that needed to be told, and in my opinion it was done well. This is not an exploitation piece. It is a film however that shows you all...

Stuart Little Animated Series: Fun Around Every Curve! with On Pack Toy

Non-Stop adventure
Not a very intense story but for my sensitive 4 year old grandson, the owl attacking the sparrow and Stewart was a bit scarey. He will come to l;ike it in a year or two but we are going to put it aside for a while.

like the others in the animated series. good watching.
like the others in the animated series. good watching. when i ordered it i was expecting a TOY ... its is more of a keychain - flat plastic with a raised 3d stuart holding a pencil suspended from a hikers clip. (look closer at image youll see what i mean)

my only disapointment is that of the animated series "going for the gold" has 4 episodes (89 minutes) not 3 episodes (67 minutes) like this dvd. why dont ALL have 4 episodes ?

Excellent Product!
My 2 year old daughter loves this video. She gets excited over Snowbell's antics. I think I'm gonna get all of Stuart's episodes.

Pingu - On Thin Ice

Pingu has changed
I am no Pingu expert. I own one of the first Pingu DVDs and my kids love it. But something has happened to Pingu since. The whole "feel" of the cartoon has changed. It is as if it underwent some "hollywoodization". I wonder if the franchise has changed owners since. There seem to be more frequent cuts, the scenes change in a more rapid sequence, the characters are moving faster, seem to be less "cute", becoming more of "action characters". I miss the the old Pingu.

not as good
I have to agree with the other reviewers. We have the first two Pingu DVD's and this one is not the same. It seems to be slicker....I miss the old Pingu with the original music and the clunkier animation. This one doesn't have nearly the charm.

a different pingu
Everyone that has seen the first two Pingus movies (ages 3 to 52) has really liked them a lot. This new one wasn't recieved as well. Its much faster paced and Pingu is not as sweet as he used to be.

Blue Murder: Set 2

This May Just Be Your Cuppa
"Blue Murder, Set 2,"a crime drama/police procedural, chronicles the doings of a Manchester-based contemporary female British detective who's both a top cop and a single mum to four. It was made by British Independent Television (ITV), and is a ratings hit in the United Kingdom, but has not yet been broadcast here. It is, inevitably, reminiscent of Helen Mirren's Prime Suspect 1; though the mysteries tend to be somewhat kinder and gentler.

In the lead role, DSI Janine Lewis, Caroline Quentin(Jonathan Creek - Season One, Men Behaving Badly - The Complete Collection (The Original British TV Series)) gets a chance to prove herself a substantial actress, as well as a talented comedienne. In her job, she faces drive-by shootings, abducted children, and police...

Blue Murder mysteries
best female detective series from the Brits available. Great action, not too gory and believable characters

Great DCI
I love this lady. She is an excellent copper and is so different from Jane Tennison. I love her of course. This lady is married and has four children. She is tempted to have a cozy with her partner Richard. They never quite make it together. So she balances her family with her job and breakfast is a funny business. Good murder mysteries too.

WWE Royal Rumble - The Complete Anthology, Vol. 4

audio problems, poor packaging, audio skipping, footage removed, jittery blurred logos, censored music, not worth the full price
honestly...this is ridiculous. the audio for all the dvd's(every one)are nothing more than crappy mono(very poor)with the sound very low & the commentators very high?. where are the dolby digital 5.1 stereo surround sound wwe dvds we are use to getting everytime. the packaging sucks badly(why not do it as with the past wrestlemania anthology with a bottom & top lid), it splits even with being careful, a lot of footage is removed outta no where(most noteably the wwf superstar line segments), you can tell of this because of the splicing job they constantly do. the audio constantly skips(jumping) when wwf is verbally mentioned, the blurred logos are jittery & shake when theres frame movements. the blurred logo's look like garbage...the blurs look like heavy ice cube blocks on the everything especially the turnbuckles(they even go as far as to blur in-between the turnbuckles...for what?????). seriously i swear in this set they censor dozens of original themes filmed at the the time of the...

Unwrapping the DVD set
I am still digging into the new boxed set, but I wanted to echo several comments about the packaging. It is indeed awkward, fragile, and ill-concieved. A piece of printed paper hold together two large heavy sides. I have pampered the case like a newborn baby and it's already about to tear. Normal wear and tear will have people buying new cases in the first month.

Beyond that....I can't wait to see all 56 hours.

The Last 5 Years Of The Rumble
2003 - I'm still wondering how WWE would have the best & worst matches in Rumble history on the same card. That was the case here as WWE Champion Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit wrestled in a classic match which many consider their best match ever...to the point to where Chris Benoit got a standing ovation after the match although he tapped out & lost. The other match was Triple H vs. Scott Steiner...the less said, the better because this was absolutely horrible. The Rumble match itself had some good moments like Jeff Hardy finally getting his hands on Matt for how he left RAW and Tommy Dreamer bringing in weapons & getting "hardcore" but the big highlight here was the storyline between Jericho & HBK with help from Christian that resulted in both of their elimination's. Brock Lesnar would go on to win it at the end (#29) after having a good match with Big Show earlier in the night.

2004 - The Chris Benoit Show would be the proper title for this Rumble as Benoit did what HBK...
